#NextConscious: A Tale of Possibility

In near-future San Francisco, biotech giant Life.O has learned how to reanimate the dead—and turned them into an endlessly compliant low-wage workforce. As human workers lose their jobs, longtime residents face eviction, and Life.O's influence reaches from City Hall to the city's militarized borders, performance artist Tricycle, Mission resident Lydia Montez, and aspiring journalist Trevor Bayani find themselves pulled into very different forms of resistance. Funny, furious, and increasingly chaotic, #NextConscious is a satire of technological progress, gentrification, labor, and the dangerous promise that innovation will solve everything.
